I started WaniKani in 2018, got to level 26 and then decided to quit because I had to be away from home for half a year.
A few months ago, I decided it’s time to come back, so I reset to level 1 (horrible mistake), and now I have finally arrived to the level I was at the first time around
Now I encounter kanji I don’t know or kinda recognize, so it’ll be challenging once more.
This time around I’ll get to 60, 絶対!

You’re going to get there far before I do, but I’m going to out you on my leaderboard and watch you grow! I’ll be on my way too!

I reset from 17 to 2, so a far smaller drop than yours, but I agree that it was a horrible mistake.
Great to see that you’re back, all the best!

Indeed, I thought that after half a year of not interacting with Japanese I would forget everything.
But surprisingly everything came back very quickly and I remembered 90% of what I’ve learned. SRS does indeed help you with remembering things long term
