Good on ya. Also, living in Osaka. Keep on keeping on. 毎日学び続けてね?
I am on iPhone, I use the app Tsukurame. It has the same feature to consolidate the learning as you can view the Kanji you just learnt. Well, I don’t know for some Kanji that just don’t stick in my mind even though I look at them a lot. I guess if I have more time, I will try to write them a bunch of times to remember them better. It might also be that my brain is currently not in the mood for keeping Kanji as I was focussing a lot on my exams recently which meant a lot of memorizing of other stuff so it might be that it prioritized the Kanji memorization less
I also felt like that when I was studying for university half of the day already and then doing Wanikani in the evening that I could not concentrate as well. I still did my reviews every day to not fall behind and I did not add any new lessons but still the new Kanji would not stick. At least, I got rid of almost all of my leeches from previous levels as I only have 55 Apprentice items right now totally. 45 of them are from this level and the rest from level 13.
Next week, I am done with the semester and got my last university presentation, so I hope that my accuracy gets better then again.
Definitely a ton easier after exams, I’m a bit of an idiot because I decided to start learning a few weeks before exams came round (as if I didn’t have enough on my plate to worry about lol). Anyway, once you finish up the presentation I’m sure your brain will be more receptive of Japanese since it’s not being torn between uni and Kanji in terms of brain power
Guys I did it! I got to 0/0 for the first time since I stopped using reorder. I’m so happy right now!
This is so useful! Thank you!
Congrats! Reaching 0/0 does feel good!
Nice one! Has that satisfying feeling made you want to attain 0/0 for each subsequent level?
Hit level 7 in only 8 days, my fastest yet! …And then didn’t do any reviews or lessons at all yesterday But I’m on it again now lol, I need to do something about my 250 vocab lessons too…
Hello, level 13!
/pats new level/
Spent a little over 10 days on level 12, but this speed is a lot more comfortable for me. This way, I have a bit more time to work on other aspects of the language (looking at you, grammar).
Well done!! This is actually huge!
You’re putting me to shame, I said I’d start to look at grammar once I entered level ten… Yeah, that totally didn’t happen ;_;
頑張る皆様!
The 10 characters limit is seriously a pain when writing japanese.
A ressource I found and like, especially combining with Cure Dolly: http://cghq.net/japanese/verbs/AMB_Japanese_Verbs.pdf
this makes the whole ”conjuguation” thing more logical.
I have a scientific mind, being able to see that kind of pattern helped me a lot.
Also I’ve discovered the thread Japanese Sentence a Day Challenge a few days ago. Producing at least one sentence of japanese everyday is quite motivating, especially if you try to incorporate new concept you learned.
Merged both answer into one.
Well maybe every level that only has 20 vocabulary words. I try to keep my apprentice queue under 100 so I want to stick close to that.
I feel like I might be missing something here…
I realized that I probably didn’t explain it well. When you level up there are some vocab lessons that aren’t attached to any kanji, they’re just part of the level. There are usually around 20 but I’ve seen up to 40. These vocab will come after the radicals and kanji if you proceed in default order. It takes me a while to get through the vocab words so I don’t think I could fit in more than 20 between unlocking the kanji and getting them to guru, which is when you get new lessons.
I don’t think I will make it to level 21 before 2021, since I’m currently on level 5, but certainly motivated to join and give it my best shot
Thanks for the idea and the leaderboard - those things certainly keep the motivation up
There are 19 weeks left in the year, so it’s still possible! And if you go slower and «only» make it to level 10 or 15, you’ll still learn a lot. Good luck!
You can start today.
Grammar is daunting. Then I realized that I know a bunch of words but not how to string them together.
Anyway, I’m super slow with grammar. It’s going to take me a good long while to make it through the basic grammar points. More reason to start early, haha.
Omg i love this idea!
I’m really into harry potter.
I’m in the 5th year 1st semester!
