Looking at the titles, it seems to me that the blue one is about world history while the orange one (which I linked above) is about Japanese history?
Edit: I think I get it now: I guess you looked at the abstract which is in fact a bit misleading… it says „The second volume in the series following World History, which has sold more than 370,000 copies!“ but „World History“ is the title of the first book, with the second book being about Japanese history. First I thought it’s a translation issue but the original abstract is also quite fuzzy in that respect, I think
Oh, you are right. I was reading the blue one by accident, I missed the orange one Yes, this is actually indeed a book on Japanese history, from prehistory to post-WW2 Japan.
I have to say that this one doesn’t really mesh with me, it’s something about the format or writing style. This one is a really a textbook, so it might not be something that’s intended to be read through like a novel. But certainly this could be useful for others who are interested.
I could only get my hands on the world history book by the same publisher, but it is far too dense and lengthy, really a textbook, so I’ll skip on this one. I think it’s more appropriate for a course than for reading through.
