Is there a script that allows you to do each kanji & vocabulary item by item (meaning and reading are next to each other)? In the WaniKani for Android App, this feature is known as the “Single Button.” For those of you unfamiliar, this mode puts a kanji or vocabulary’s meaning followed by it’s reading during reviews. This helps prevent the inevitable, “Dang it, I inputted the meaning instead of the reading!” I still like the default random order of reviewing items and am not interested in reordering based on level, kanji, etc.
I couldn’t find a mention of this script in the message boards, but perhaps I am not looking hard enough.
Also, if this script exists and you use it, do you think there are any downsides to it?
I use the Reorder Ultimate script, it does this among its other features.
EDIT: The main downside is that it makes you answer the item immediately again when you get it wrong (which means you don’t really have to remember it to get it right), but you can manually force it to re-randomize to get around this.
Thanks! I didn’t know that the Reorder Ultimate could do this as well. I gave it a shot during my last review session and it was exactly what I was hoping for.
Having to manually force it to re-randomize after a wrong answer is a bit annoying, but it’s not a bad tradeoff.
