Issues highlighting text when posting

I’m not sure if this belongs here, as it may be an individual problem, but I’m having issues with highlighting text within this box for the last day or so.

If I try to copy a previous post of mine (for a book club), or highlight text to hide a spoiler, the cursor won’t drag. I can only highlight individual words.

Any ideas? I hope this makes sense.

Edit: this is when using a an iPad. However, it’s always worked previously.

My guess is this is an individual problem, but here is what you can try as a temporary fix.

  1. Right click at the point you want to copy.
  2. Ignore the menu that pops up.
  3. Hold the shift key down and place your cursor at the end point you want to copy, then click your mouse.
  4. Your text will then be highlighted!

Obviously, there is a good chance that the menu will hide your end point but just click where you can and then edit the resulting quote in your post.

This is the method I just used to quote your post (even though I don’t have a problem highlighting text). Hope you find your solution eventually! :slight_smile:

Thanks! I realised I never specified I was talking about an issue when using iPad, so I’ll amend my post.

So - the original problem resolved by itself, but I now have a similar one (which I suspect is related).

Whenever I’m highlighting a post, it will do so, but when I try to go to “blur spoiler” or “details”, that menu just won’t open. The page is now partly frozen.
The same thing happens when I’m copying an old post (usually for a book club), the text box won’t close. It occasionally works but I now have frozen text boxes in two different posts.

Can anyone help?

Hmm. I actually wonder if I’ve found a solution. I just found I had another tab open with the forum on. Suspect that may have been causing the glitch.
