Is "public good game" (公共財ゲーム) a commonly understood concept in Japan?

I just got the vocabulary word 公共 in level 12 and noticed that every example from Media Context Sentences uses the word in this phrase, “public good game” (公共財ゲーム).

Coming from the American education system, I have never heard of this. It sounds like a fairly niche economics term, but it’s being referenced in anime. Does anyone know if this is a commonly understood term in Japan?

What are Media Context Sentences? I don’t see that one in the sentences provided by WK.

It’s a userscript: [Userscript] Media Context Sentences (formerly Anime Context Sentences 2)

It shows you context sentences from anime with the given vocabulary word.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if all the quotes were from one particular anime, which if you saw it in context would have explained this game theory term to viewers as it went along. The google hits seem to be the usual sort of Wikipedia/science/economics type of stuff, similar what you’d expect for the English term, plus some references to the 賭ケグルイxx anime.

Oh yeah! I vaguely remember that part of the show. And yes, in context it gets explained.
