Hi, sometimes I do reviews in short intervals.
Every so now and then clear a few words, and then back out again to the homepage or close the browser. And very rarely do this when I make a spelling mistake due to miss clicking on the keyboard. With this I can keep the increasing review number to a minimum when at work, or on busy days.
But one thing I notice is when I make a mistake, on either the meaning or translation of a Kanji without finishing the other before stopping, the level of said Kanji won’t adjust.
To give an example:
I had to input the meaning of 午 (Noon), and once again I mistook it for the cow kanji (牛).
Then I closed the reviews because I had to get back to work. Later after doing my reviews again I came across 午 again and after correctly answering the meaning and translation it went from Master to Enlightened.
Now I have to wait 4 months before it will show up again. I’d rather have it back to Guru level so I can memorize it more.
Is there a way to reset or adjust the level of specific Radicals / Kanji’s / or Vocabs so that they get back in the review pool.
When you’ve burned an item, you can unburn it which will set it back to apprentice 1. I don’t think there’s any way to do that for an item you’ve not yet burned.
However, you may want to use the wrap up button. This will mean you finish both halves of the next 10 reviews, and then you’re progress is saved for them.
thanks for the response.
I have used the wrap up before.
But sometimes I have more free time than previously expected. And I have to click and unclick the Wrap Up Button a few times.
Or, I still have 5+ reviews to go and a colleague, patiënt or someone on the phone needs me.
I don’t know how to get the item back in the review pile but in future you can avoid the problem by doing one more review item before closing. This way the failed item gets recorded as failed and you can go back to work. That’s assuming you get the next item correct.
that only works if the next 2 review items are the same Kanji/Vocab. One to answer it correctly and the other to complete both meaning and translation and make it register as a level down.
