Of course, I know usually devs have multiple jobs. If you say they keep it updated that’s all I need to know
Rest assured your feedback is noticed
Your issue is already being tracked though:
I know the usual advice is “use the TestFlight beta”, but is there currently any rough plan on when the next stable release update will be?
I believe that OP may have some private commits at the moment.
In any case, they would like to have a very high release quality but believe some of the new features aren’t of that quality unfortunately
Great app, but is there anything that can be done about review sync speed and consistency? Very frequently there is a discrepancy between number of reviews in the app and number of reviews on desktop, and it sometimes takes literal minutes of refreshing to sync correctly.
Syncing should be faster on the TestFlight build if you aren’t already using it.
Nice update guys !
The lesson limit number is very usefull to avoid the headache of every level up
That’s been merged for over a year, so maybe it’s just that the settings reorganization included in this update helped you find it
I just got an iPad and started using the app. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong, but correct answers seem to keep being marked correct. I just installed the app and didn’t change any default settings. After I get something wrong, I pulled up the tab from the bottom to show the correct answer. Then I click the arrow on the right to continue as I don’t see any other options. Then a question or two later, I get the second card for a topic and after answering it, it seems the whole review is marked correct. Is there something else I need to do so that incorrect answers are sent to WK as incorrect?
Please read the discussion at:
Thanks for the information.
Pursuant to the discussion, the setting is now removed and the update is available on the App Store, so this should no longer be an issue!
I’ve tried Tsurukame after quite a long absence and would like to report some issues with it.
First of all, I’m using TestFlight v. 1.25.923 (as reported in the settings). Here is what I found strange:
- I am using Anki mode and during today’s reviews I got an item wrong (so I clicked on “my answer was incorrect”). Tsurukame would then show me the same item, but this being Anki mode, I would like it to behave like my Anki, i.e. it should wait a little bit. So I selected “Ask me later”. This happened for a number of items. When I was done with my reviews, it showed me “100% correct”. Which clearly was not the case. I don’t know how this is related to the issue mentioned one month ago, but clearly it did not get resolved (at least for me).
- When I got the first half of an item wrong, I was not asked for the second half after I selected “ask me later”. It deferred the full item although it could ask for the second half straight away.
- When I got the second half of an item wrong, I was still asked for both reading and meaning after I selected “ask me later”.
- When I mute my phone, Tsurukame does not get muted (auto read vocab). This is a bit annoying as I have to fully disable the auto read feature to work around this.
Thanks for any insights!
Welcome back! Glad to see this addition (#481) being put to good use!
That’s because ask me again later does not record an incorrect review, so if you got it right the Nth time of doing this, any previous ones never happened. #554 was only related to the now-obsolete pause on partially correct answers option.
Now you can see that ask again later cancels the review attempt and defers both reading and meaning until later.
That’s odd. It is effectively muted if you change the volume to 0% (say, via the volume buttons), right?
If y’all haven’t been monitoring the site, a new review or two might have slipped you by.
WK recently decided to allow reviews for items moved to higher levels, but Tsurukame had to refuse it because it used to allow them before (which obviously caused problems). This PR will now need to be reverted:
Hello there, I’m an avid user of the beta, but it just expired and the links aren’t working (says the beta isn’t accepting testers at this time). It is possible to make a new one?
Yes, it is. Currently, we’re trying to contact Mr. Sansome to see if we can correct the problem with the original beta; you can follow that here:
I have also submitted a PR to fix the aforementioned issue with reviews, see here:
P.S. Any Tsurukame users remaining on iOS 10 might have noticed support has been pulled from Mr. Sansome’s App Store version, beginning in build 911, in accordance with the announcement that Xcode 14 will not support iOS 10 or below.
I just wanted to pop my head in here to sing my praises for the author.
Although indirectly, you’ve been a huge part of my life and learning experience for the past few years. I don’t think I would have every really taken the plunge into Japanese had it not been for your app.
Thank you for all that you’ve done. I’m very appreciative, and thankful.
Just got a TestFlight update and wanted to thank @indirect for their improvement to the level completion estimate. Because of my wide reset intervals it previously would say upwards of a year or so to complete a level; now the estimate is much closer to my actual completion time – thanks!
no problem! it was me fixing it for myself, I was very tired of seeing 90+ days as the estimate for my own levels
