How to start over?

So, I got pretty far in WK. Somewhere in the 40s. But then work got crazy, and my studies were getting more frustrating, and I pretty much dropped Japanese for a year.

I feel like I should pick it back up, because even though I’ve forgotten a ton, there are still times when I’m able to read or understand things, and it seems a shame to get partway into mastering a difficult language and then just let it die. I’m sure I would pick things back up faster than I learned them.

I know there are a bunch of posts like this, but many of them predate a lot of WK changes, user scripts, etc and I didn’t see anything really recent, so… what’s the best way to start from the beginning other than resetting? Is there a good tool for reviewing earlier levels without having to slog through all the beginner, master, etc treadmill again?

Hey there! I was in a similar boat as you about 7 years ago and I ended up resetting. Then life happened again, and I just now jumped back in at level 7 and had the same questions. Couldn’t remember what koichi advised back then. This article helped me so see if it helps you. I ended up looking at the kanji lists and going back to where I felt comfortable and my reviews weren’t staggering (~300).

The description exactly fits this one.

It can also help find the level to reset to.
