How can I move forward? I only get reviews, no new lessons. Every time I check theresonly the same reviews, no new lessons
you have to do the reviews! in order to advance to the next level, you need to move a certain percentage of the kanji cards from your current level from āApprenticeā level to āGuruā.
additionally, for most levels you have to move your radical cards to āGuruā to unlock the kanji cards that use them.
this process takes a couple of days; if you do every review right when it becomes available, you can clear the first two levels in a week total and most levels thereafter in about a week each as well.
see the official Wanikani information on this very question:
While the other folks are correct, I also want to add:
WK generally has a bit of a pattern if you do all your lessons every day. At the start of each level, itās managable, youāre adding 15 new things per day, but slowly those 15 add up, things return day after day, especially ones you just canāt seem to remember well, and itās a real challenge (a good one, but a challenge)
Then you run out of new lessons, and itās JUST reviews, slowly checking off the boxes of the Kanji and Dictionary entries, but over time the load slows down, as more and more are gotten.
Then you hit the 26th Kanji Guruād, or the 36th, or the 100th, or whatever the level demands, and youā get a nice hit of dopamine as the level up banner appears and you get 15 new lessons!
After that, itās back to stage 1 again.
You learn the rhythm, there are steps in it you may like less or more, I learned to skip a few lessons in the reviews are already unmanageable. Overall itās become a nice habit!
ā¦.Everyone already told you everything you need to know but here is my contribution -
Do the lessons when they are available , Do the reviews as soon as poosible (try to do them in managable hours ) then reapeat . Donāt think too much about how the system works as the crabigator
will watch that for you , you just do whatever it throws at you and you will be fine (for the most part) , for more try to read this
