This is my 3rd time or so trying this. Hopefully I won’t lose motivation when I get to the higher levels this time.
がんばってー !
Good luck!
Just a tip from someone who also reset: find a goal to work towards. I had the goal of getting 10 levels done every 3 months so I could finish in a year and a half. I ended up finishing in a year and about three months. You can do it!
P. S. Squid Girl ftw.
Just reset my account, too… after about a 2 year hiatus -.-
もうがんばりましょうね!
Squid Girl FTW!
I think a goal is prolly the way to go. Thanks for the advice
Squid Girl ftw indeed
We can do this!
It’s my second time!
I started learning Japanese in August 2018. I made an account here. Then I got exasperated at 下げる vs 下がる vs 下 vs 下さい.
I decided to learn Japanese for a while without kanji. Now I’ve gone through 90 days of Pimsleur, the whole Duolingo tree twice, and the Hippocrene book “Beginner’s Japanese.”
I realized my kanji was way, way behind my general vocab and grammar. Now I’m back, and it’s way less intimidating.
I hope I can stick with it.
You can do it!! I just started over (again) recently, and FINALLY made it to Level 2!! Took me ages but I finally got there
I’m also on my third go round. I went on a looong break to do grammar and puzzle my way slowly through manga, then I finally restarted WK as I found my kanji recognition was holding up my reading, so it was suddenly important to do it, not just fun. This time round, I’ve severley limiting my learning so I never have more than 20 reviews a day (which in with all the other Japanese stuff I do is plenty). But I’ve only re-reached level 7. I usually give up round level 20, so there’s still time for me to restart again.
You can do it!!! I am rooting for you!

Third time as well. I think the highest was around mid level 20. I can’t believe I started six years ago here … I could have finished all Kanjis already five times …
You can do it …
Welcome! I’ve been a member since 2015 and I’ve reset a few times. Injury to my hands + 3D Animation school required a lot of attention where I couldn’t be doing other things. But if you want help with motivation, there are casual competitions around. I’m currently a part of seeing who can reach level 60 fastest, and a 0/0 Streak challenge. They’ve been enough so far for me to keep coming back and not slack off. See what works for you!
tl;dr don’t worry about it.
We will never have give up on Japanese!! Like think about manga and anime, they are endless.
Welcome back and good luck
You can do iiiiiiitttttttt
