Ahh, thank goodness. I don’t have access to the physical copy of the answer book and found out you can use way back machine from when the answer book was posted on the Genki website that you could use. They’re both 3rd edition but maybe it isn’t 3rd? I don’t know, a lot of the answer I’ve looked up have been correct but a few times they’ve been slightly different.
@SilentScorm I think I should use that site in future to double check my answers hahah!
Yeah it’s funny. It is actually a 3rd edition answer book. I’ve got access to Genki 1 2nd edition workbook and the answer book. In the 2nd edition it asks, English-Language teacher, BUT it asks it as the fourth question not the third.
In the resource I’ve got online, it’s the 3rd question. I own the paper back version of Genki 1 3rd work and text book. I didn’t have the answer book and money is tight and I can’t justify buying that on top of it! Possible the answer key wasn’t updated correctly for the 3rd and instead of using the updated version which is Japanese-language, it used the previous edition? Because in 3rd I haven’t even learned English-language that’s in the next lesson.
The photo I sent is from the physical Third Edition, and it’s correct there, so who knows what’s going on. These books are indeed an investment - I asked for mine as a Christmas present from my husband!
Yeah I honestly don’t know. Either way, I now have an answer that sometimes it maybe incorrect and I can use a backup like the genki resource from github linked above.
I’ll be honest, I looked online for free copies, but there is always a cost for using the high seas. I didn’t want to take the chance so I splashed on the Genki 1 3rd books. I feel committed with Japanese so I don’t think it’ll be another expensive textbook collecting dust. But yea, maybe I should look into getting a wife, as you said, I can ask her to get it for me instead? Genius!
Getting married may be a rather extreme solution to the textbook cost issue. And what if your wife refuses to get it for you as a present, after all your trouble in finding her?! But having the up-to-date Answer Key saves a lot of time. Have you checked for used versions online?
I’ll already have that covered in a prenup if she denies me the right to affordable education! But I think you’ve convinced me, maybe looking for something second hand is more realistic. Amazon doesn’t, I’ll take a look around this evening. Living in Australia makes it more challenging with options.
