Frustrated new user

The site does not tell you what you’re supposed to write as the correct answer and I have no idea what I am supposed to do differently.

I have the Person Kanji, it asks for the Reading, I type in にんじん, it says it’s wrong.
Then it opens up the item info and this is all it says:

“Only one person at Nintendo (にん) complained about the new Jeans (じん).”

I even tried putting in Nintendo Jeans but that’s obviously wrong.

The same goes for the kanji Nine, and there will probably be loads more.

What am I supposed to do ???

Pick one reading. にん OR じん。Not both.

Right now you’re typing “carrot”. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well that would have been really nice to know that I’m supposed to choose only one, not both. Sure, maybe I’m just dumb, but it should be more clear in the description that they are alternatives of each other, not that you need to use both.

Thanks.

It’s a very common mistake. If you search the forums many people run into a similar problem at first.

If you look closely it lists the On’yomi as にん, じん the comma highlighting the two separate readings.

気を付けてください!

By the way, this is directly addressed in the FAQ. Take a look around the FAQ first if you have any more questions, because it’s quite extensive. (Of course, if you can’t find your answer there, feel free to ask on the forums again.)
