Yes it is actually the correct language. Was afraid I’m gonna see some Hindi letters and get myself lost in translation.
But I still prefer English over my native language, gonna change it back.

Mine switched to Finnish this morning as well, but I assumed that it was because I live in Finland. Luckily I speak Finnish so I just switched it back to English.
Certain parts of the UI don’t change as they are set values like topic categories or topic names; same with the links to the main Wanikani website up top.
It’s funny that Everytime i see this post, no need to open or hover my mouse or anything, just look at this post in the Latest Thread Activity list

I had it too earlier. It wound up set to japanese.
Mine just switched to Japanese as well. I’m in the U.S., so it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with location. Maybe it’s detecting what keyboards a user has installed or something.
Just happened to me (from English to Japanese). I refreshed the page, and it immediately went back to English. I’m in Canada, so I don’t think it’s location, but I do have the Google Japanese IME installed and is my active keyboard.
I don’t think it’s to do with IME’s because I don’t have a Finnish IME installed so it’d make no sense why mine went to that.

Looks like it’s an issue with a feature Discourse is rolling out that allows the interface to be localized per user. They know it’s misbehaving — hopefully they fix it or roll it back quickly.

Oh! This finally happened to me…
I wonder if it would be useful to the thread over there at meta.discourse to link to this one. I read it, and there was no mention of how/why it’s happening… since we’re discovering here that there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
@viet I have another issue that started around the time this happened… I wonder if it’s related.
I get this error when I try to link to a specific post, either by directly typing in the address, duplicating the tab when at a specific post, or by right clicking to open a new tab for that post.
Did it have kanji or kana in the title? There’s an issue where links were redirecting loads of times if they did… they’re already onto Discourse about it!
Yeah, that could be it, too. They’re ones with emojis!
