I read my first Japanese News article. Its from the site NHKやさしいことばニュース | NEWS WEB EASY

I could not believe it, but I could understand most of what was written. There is an audio version for it.

I believe it is aimed for people who are learning Japanese.

I will go there every day now to check out the news in Japanese.

In a manner of speaking – I believe the target audience is 小学生, but that happens to work well for second-language learners as well.

I hear that said sometimes, but it originally came about as a news source aimed at foreigners living in Japan primarily, and now has a secondary focus of elementary schoolers and foreign language learners. For anyone interested, there’s some background on it below.

I have been doing Wanikani since: 2020-07-30. I have been using Duolingo at times, and I have listened to Matt vs Japan - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/@mattvsjapan) and some podcasts on Japanese language. I have also done some Japanese lessons from a Japanese teacher. I just brought my first manga book and kanji dictionary. I have started to recently watch anime.

I think by the end of this week I will go to level 24.
