Hello All! First post. (gotta get those check marks) I blasted through hiragana and katakana using online practice apps and then decided to learn kanji using a book. Well that didn’t work. I look at the cover of the book as I’m about to go to bed and never have the motivation to read it. 
I have lots of time during the day to study on line but never knew of this site until yesterday. So happy now! This is going to be lots of fun. I’m going to Japan next summer and can’t wait to use what I’ve learned. Good luck everyone and let’s burn some turtles or whatever that is supposed to mean.
