Yeah. I always kind of laugh in secret to people who have this problem, since I log in several times per day, so it was never a problem for me
.
Another new record today, albeit only barely.
December 3:

Every time I see your Apprentice items, I twitch!
I keep mine just barely above 100 or below. It keeps me at a nice pace, keeps me moving, keeps me learning, keeps me motivated, and prevents me from burning out. I don’t know how you do it, but you are and it’s awesome!
Keep it up!
The answer is that I’m doing reviews for two hours a day.

What I meant was more like… how you are sticking to it AND not going crazy! ![]()
I procrastinated on my reviews this evening and hence got a pile of 95 reviews to do just before bed. I was pretty sleepy but determined to plow through them anyway since I’ve never gone to bed with reviews waiting on WK and wanted to maintain that streak.
The result is that it took me 23 minutes to get through them and my accuracy was abysmal (55%). I’m pretty sure I could have gotten at least a few more if I were more alert and trying harder. Anyway, that resulted in a large spike in Apprentice items today.

I hit three hours for the first time today. Luckily, I’ve only got four more levels to go. My Apprentice items peaked at 327 earlier today, though they’re now back down to “only” 314.

After all this time, and clearly all of the energy you’ve put towards learning the language, where would you say you are now in fluency? Essentially, have your time and effort been worth it? I’m just starting out and would love to know.
It’s hard to say without a specific metric to judge by. But better than I was before and not as good as I’d like or as I was hoping.

I think this is the first time I hit 500 reviews on a non-level up day.

As a person who’s on the last non-double level (level 45 desu), this slightly worries me. Or you know what, worries me tremendously xd
I feel happy for the fact you’ve only started this thread less than three weeks ago and you’re at level 56 already, that’s moderately encouraging xd
I know a few hundred apprentice items is terrifying but I genuinely hope you’ll pull through ![]()
Please keep writing this diary, you’re two weeks away from the cake now ![]()
Double levels? You mean fast levels? 48 and 49 are also normal levels. I wouldn’t feel any pressure doing fast levels any different, unless you have some kind of crazy personal goal.
Yeah, I can feel this. And since it says you joined only 2 weeks after me and are 2 levels above me, I assume you are a fellow max speeder.
Actually, 48 is a normal level but 49 is a fast level. 48 is the last slow level.
Oh, you’re right, I haven’t even noticed!
Well, that means it’ll take a little longer than I anticipated to climb all the way to the cake, it’s the evening of January 31st for me then.
If I keep up at the current pace, the journey from the very start to the cake will last exactly 360 days, 3.5 more days for the last kanji, 3.5 more days for the last apprentice item.
Seems like the slogan of “2000 kanji, 6000 vocabulary words, in just over a year” might be either spot on or a little conservative at my pace xd
Keep going OP, I’m looking forward to seeing your journey through <3
I started the evening of Jan 1st, and at my current pace, I’ll hit level 60 on Dec 19. So that will mean exactly 353 days for me, 3.5 more days for the last kanji, 3.5 more days for the last vocab, etc.
Made a pretty big dent in my Apprentice count this morning
December 8:

Master: 1203

I’m reassured to see I’m not alone with more guru items than master items.
This seems rough.
Keep it up, it is the last stretch.
