A short anecdote about flip flops/sandals/shoes-with-only-a-strap-at-the-toe.

I used to work in retail, specifically women’s clothing area, and one day an old man (80+) came up to me and asked where the thongs were. At this point I was trying not to imagine why he wanted thongs. I started to hesitantly walk him to where the womens underwear were when he said something about how the strap on his old sandals had broken so he needed a new pair.
So now, everyone who reads this now has the mental picture of an old guy wearing womens underwear.

TL;DR the shoes can also be called thongs

The last code has the digits ‘19 1 6 5 5 5 10 9’. So whatever we decode in the last book will be gibberish considering there is not an English word with three consecutive letters (xxx 5 5 5 xx).
