Confused about ご用意

Today I was learning 用意 and I have noticed that one context sentence is just ご用意 so I tried googling what the ご means at the start since the meaning of 用意 is supposed to be “preparation” and ご用意 “preparations”, but I can’t find anything about ご being used to make something plural. It doesn’t appear to be a vocabulary on its own either.

I found one possible explanation, it could be “polite honorific”, specifally for nouns of chinese origin:

So do I understand it correctly that ご用意 is just polite version of 用意? Or am I missing something?

Yes, ご用意 is the “beautified” version of 用意, and it may be necessary to use it if you are using 用意 as a verb in keigo as well.

I’m not sure what the thinking was to describe it the way the WK page did, but yes, there’s nothing specifically about pluralization.
