Yeah, if you’re making typos because you’re typing too fast, the solution is to slow down and watch what you’re typing.
Besides, even if WaniKani allowed Levenshtein-based leniency for the reading answers like it does for the meaning answers, perhaps the majority of answers are short enough that you wouldn’t get that leniency anyway. If you’re typing かほう instead of まほう, that’s a third of your answer spelt wrong (and かほう is a different word anyway).
