Definitely slower. It all went to hell after I used vacation mode for the first time. :flushed: Level 52, I think it was.

Slloowwweeerrrrrrr. I was hauling butt there for awhile, but my lessons got so out of control (almost 300), that I went.

“Whoa, hold on guys. No. This can’t be a thing.”

So I’ve spend a few weeks widdling them down to a manageable 80…then overtime at work started ;__; so I’ve been at 32 for almost a month.

CURSE YOU LIFE, WE JUST WANT TO STUDY JAPANESE ALL DAY.

In any case, I reckon things will be slower now…I like keeping my lessons manageable ha ha…so I’ve decided not just to power through the kanji/radicals.

Dear diary

I might be going backwards. I forget things faster than review times bring them back. Could be because im pissed off 24/7 because im not getting new stuff. Lol well i think im partly right, since people have different kind of memory. Well i guess i just have to adjust my learning style to suit this site.

Mistakes with radicals or kanji really hurt here because punishment is even less new stuff. I just have to stop my sloppy ways and start nailing things first time every time. I like this site but i hate waiting time since i have time and motivation now. 95 % review success just is not enough here but at least lvl up mechanics have been learned hard way.

Well next level is new start. This learning experience could go both ways. Maybe i can change or this style just won’t suit my stone age monkey brains. Thanks guys for for posting your progress info.

This is why reading is as important as doing WK. You’ll encounter known kanji while reading, and this reinforces your memory. If somebody tells you this is cheating, then that person doesn’t understand why they learn kanji.

My progression is all over. It would help a ton if i actually managed to do WK few times a day instead of just doing days reviews in the evening. That way i could bump stuff to guru much faster. But meh, this isnt a race or anything :­p

I know the kanji I either encounter, or have encountered, far better than ones which are brand new and I only see on WaniKani.

For some reason, WaniKani is my introduction to Japanese, so I often haven’t encountered any of the words before.

Oh my god so much slower.
When I started, work was slow and I was excited to learn, I’d drop everything every time a review was available, then also cram in a chapter of Genki, making flashcards, drilling random vocab.
Real life has caught up to me and I’m still adamant that whenever I have time, i’ll diligently clear through my review (reviews first, lessons only when I have time on top of that).
But my initial review speed was so fast that old words pile up super fast, and now most of the time I can dedicate to studying Japanese, I’m spending on reviews

I got wayyyy way slower for a while due to life stuff, but got back into it, and may finish this level in record time now that I downloaded the app and get notifications when reviews are ready.

I’ve always been kind of slow. I only do one review session a day and even then I sometimes miss a day here and there.
I took a break when cramming for the JLPTs, which is why level 19 took 80 days but other than that I’ve been doing it (kind of) daily, exceptions for when I’m too sick.

Hmm, neither faster nor slower, really. After L4, I seem to have gotten myself into a nice little rhythm (for now…). L9 is probably where the SRS intervals got tweaked.

I tend to level up every 7-8 days unless I’m particularly busy with my studies

Was going faster and then purposely slowed down to 1 level every 15 days to do more grammar studies… The first 2 levels after 4 I was catching up on a years worth of backlog. I’m currently scheduled to level up in 2 days… I need to slow that down.
