Hey guys, I’ve decided I want to get a monthly subscription (May move to a yearly one after a month or two) but at the moment the only payment method I can see that’s viable to me is Visa, which means being charged a standing charge of £1.50 and a percentage charge on top of that by my bank, which is a considerable amount compared to the actual price of the monthly subscription.
I usually get around these fees by using PayPal, are there any options like that here or am I stuck? Obviously the yearly subscription means I only have to worry about the £1.50 standing charge but I still need to pay a percentage charge for the cost (My bank states that this charge can be avoided if the seller works out the conversion before making the charge, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for WaniKani)
They accept PayPal if you email them about it.
I was doing a forum search about it (Couldn’t find the search button before making this thread, it blends in so well!
Apparently you can only do yearly and life time paypal subscriptions if you email them about it, which kind of sucks… this is the only site I know of that has such limited payment options, and it’s not like it’s a new site too.
I’ll email them and see what they can do for me but my hopes aren’t high, I guess the site is focused more on Americans.
… Maybe switch to a bank that doesn’t charge you fees to spend your own money.
You can give Koichi foot rubs. 1 foot rub = 1 dolla.
I had a huge issue with my bank in the past as my card stopped working, they sent out a new card which got lost in the post, then when i reported it lost they deactivated a card from my alternate account and kept the lost card active and sent me a new card for the alternate account and not my main account. I almost left them over that but I imagine the process of switching banks to be a complete PITA that I really don’t want to go through.
I’ve emailed Wanikani’s customer support and they’ve sorted it out for me though, I’m a very happy bunny with them.
This is the solution that we came through to when I emailed Customer Support. I’m an ex-carer so I give excellent massages.
I think they accept Ethereum.
I’ve actually paid for my subscription in doing a bit of work for them. You’ll soon see my new ‘Interprative Dance Mnemonic’ feature popping up for select kanji, which will feature videos of a heavily bearded and hairy British man doing dance moves to help you remember kanji. Proven to work 110% of the time!
Looking forward to this!
