I just ran across this video - learn 100 words (intermediate level) - created by “Japanese_mayuka”…

The presenter’s image is AI generated, the presenter’s voice is AI generated as well - but evidently the script was written by a human.

I’ve only watched and listened for about five minutes, but so far what I’ve seen and heard is generally accessible, easy to understand, and potentially useful as a learning tool.

Each word is displayed on the screen, while the AI ‘narrator’ presents a definition, followed by some example sentences using the word.

I’m not a fan of the font used to display the vocabulary words, however - the font looks a bit decorative or stylized to me rather than having been chosen for legibility.

Has anyone else been watching these? What do you think about them?

So far, at least, I like what I’m seeing. It might be useful to have supplementary materials, such as a PDF of the words covered in the video, the example sentences, and perhaps even a self-test.

Really? I can’t deal with the uncanny valley-ness of it. Even Cure Dolly is preferable.

Cure Dolly never made it to my waifu-candidate list.

Rem from Re:Zero is still at the top of my list, however.

I can’t go that far, but it’s certainly creepy to me. No one should be attempting to smile this much anyway.

Also, is it just me, or does the voice feel like it’s meant to be like, a woman in her 30’s, but the design of the girl is like 15 years old?
