I just ran across this video - learn 100 words (intermediate level) - created by “Japanese_mayuka”…
The presenter’s image is AI generated, the presenter’s voice is AI generated as well - but evidently the script was written by a human.
I’ve only watched and listened for about five minutes, but so far what I’ve seen and heard is generally accessible, easy to understand, and potentially useful as a learning tool.
Each word is displayed on the screen, while the AI ‘narrator’ presents a definition, followed by some example sentences using the word.
I’m not a fan of the font used to display the vocabulary words, however - the font looks a bit decorative or stylized to me rather than having been chosen for legibility.
It looks like there are a few other similar videos from this creator here:
Has anyone else been watching these? What do you think about them?
So far, at least, I like what I’m seeing. It might be useful to have supplementary materials, such as a PDF of the words covered in the video, the example sentences, and perhaps even a self-test.
Here’s a partial YouTube transcript (which does include the vocabulary words as well as the example sentences) starting from the beginning of the video through the 2-minute mark:
