I am currently level 9 as I go through my WaniKani lessons. I’ve found this to be a fantastic resource, but I recently came across a small issue as I was practicing kanji that will hopefully serve as an example for something I’ve run up against a few times now.
For this recent lesson, I came across the kanji 和 (meaning “peace” or “Japanese style”). I got the kanji mixed up with 相 (“mutual” or “minister”). I decided to pull up the kanji page and check out the “visually similar” kanji so I could straighten out where I was going awry and realized that they were not on each other’s lists.
I know there will be kanji that are similar to me and are not similar to everyone. So I don’t necessarily need the default visually similar kanji lists altered. But I do think it would be enormously helpful if I were able to click an + “Add Kanji” button and search for the kanji that I would like to add. This way I have a quick reference as I’m working on the kanji that are difficult for me and I hopefully distinguish those kanji more easily going forward.
