Add Items from later Levels to my studies?

Hello, I recently started reading a Japanese grammar book that also occasionally introduces new vocabulary that I haven’t yet learned on WaniKani yet. Since I want to try and avoid setting up multiple SRS practice sources, I was wondering if I could just yoink these kanji/vocab from later WaniKani Levels and just incorporate them into my practice right away.

You can’t but it’s not necessarily a bad thing. Learning from multiple sources in a different order helps strengthen the knowledge in my experience.

It’s certainly a little frustrating at first because of how many unknown kanji you encounter everywhere but that’s kind of the point of WaniKani: you don’t have to think about that stuff, just do your lessons and let the website select what you learn and in what order.

You would need to use a different website since you can’t do that with WaniKani.

Or you can set up a space for yourself where you have the word you don’t know typed out and then copy and paste the link below it the vocabulary word from WaniKani.
