1st Time Poster (Level 3)

Hello Forum! I am admittedly not an experienced forum poster (in any forum), so please excuse any inadvertent etiquette snafus.

Started using WK recently and really into it. Happily addicted and recommending to everyone I know who has a passing interest in Japan.

I’m not really a newbie. About 15 years ago, I passed JLPT 1, but I haven’t had any formal study since then, and only occasionally use it in my job, so my language skills have become rusty.

The initial levels have been mostly review, but super helpful and fun to revisit all of this. Also excited to become a better reader than I was even back in the day. At my peak, I was able to read fairly well, but it was still not effortless (not thar I expect it ever will be!).

My goal is to complete WaniKani and be able to more fluently read the news, social media, and books.

Excited to be here!

Welcome to the wk forums! It’s one of the better places on the internet : )
Idk, I think it’s possible for reading to become effortless. It’s obviously not easy, but if we can learn it in a closely related foreign language (I have personal evidence for that), we can learn it in a non-related one with a funny writing system! :muscle:t3: Don’t give up too early
