Since it’s bonus time, felt like trying something a bit experimental to see if it helps, so tried another stream I’d seen someone else link a few days ago. I thought the familar game would help some, like the minecraft stream I watched a few weeks ago, but I think my verdict for now is this type of natives-for-natives stream is too far above my comprehension to get much value right now.

3月4日月曜日 : Akase route (don’t know if I’ll finish it today, though). I like a lot the voice actor of this character (Souma Saito), but I really have a hard time recognizing him, maybe because for once, he’s not playing a sarcastic character^^

Double update here too, yesterday I played some Persona 3 Reload and today I listed to another episode of Japanese from Small Talk. I wasn’t sure if I missed some episodes or if they were bad at counting for the episode numbers lining up poorly in the past, but the hosts had some clear confusion over numbering this episode, so I think they’re just bad at keeping count of how many they’ve done, lol.
The topic today reminded me of some of the English-language podcasts I listen to, in particular complaining about the lack of AC in houses in the UK… Reminds me of a certain

Started a new anime today since I finished up Yuru Camp last week. Content is pretty managable… except that one scene they started talking about 3d modelling.
Some of the scenes I do recognise because they were in the JLAB Anki deck I used before joining here.
It’s funny, some of the stuff about being a newcomer to an office reminds me of when I started my first job as a developer. There’s definitely a lot of Hifumi and Aoba I can relate to. These days you wouldn’t think it, I’ve built up a lot of experience of putting on a “professional” personality in work, but it’s an act really.
It’s funny comparing the the Japanese work culture (even as distorted by anime) to work culture I’m familiar with. I’m having my own little culture shift to deal with in my new job actually. I’ve always worked for American tech multinationals but now I’m working for a European company. It’s funny, since I’m Irish, but I actually don’t know Irish work culture that well since I’ve always worked for American companies. There’s some things like caring about punctionality and office hours which are new experiences in my new job for me 
Anyway, for Japanese culture differences, there’s a scene where Aoba’s manager brings her up for being too informal in IM. I’d still get in trouble for that one today, lol.
I enjoyed the scene in series 2 where the Japanese character even had issues with misreading the kanji for her meal. Also just the whole experience of trying to be mature when dining out when you’re more used to like… McDonalds, is definitely bringing up memories of when I started.
There’s some of the stuff about how they portray the process of game development though that makes me think their research for that was just “uhh, I guess it’s like making anime”. The game is way too polished for this stage of production lol. There’s a scene where the character is taked for making NPCs for an otherwise fully finished town in a fully functional game. In real life, the game would be running at about 5 fps, crashing, and there’d be a ton of placeholder programmer art at this stage of development.
