～だけみたい what does it mean?

Hello,

I was watching a 日本語の森 video in Youtube where the guy explains ～みたい and then gives some example sentences. Here’s the link if anyone is interested.

One of the sentences reads:
おじぎをたくさんするのは日本人だけみたい。

I understand the sentence, but I’m not sure what だけ is doing there or if it’s necessary.
Does anybody know?

It seems like only Japanese people bow a lot.
