I’m making a mammoth effort to try to catch up! I think I’ll finish chapter 10 today, I’ve got 4-5 pages left.

My one-week vacation starts today. And, thanks to a certain spiky virus, Thanksgiving is cancelled this year. As such, I’m going to spend this week leisurely finishing off the majority of the chapter.

Kinda the same here, I started with ch.10 yesterday, but I’m still trying to finish in time with the club’s schedule. While reading (almost) every day and catching up is really cool, sometimes it’s just tough…

Congrats again to everyone that’s finished! Is there any plan to dig into the second book? Or is コンビニ人間 what people are going to focus on next? Trying to figure out what to do myself. I’ve got Yuru Camp, but Kiki was nice as a more involved read. Wondering if コンビニ人間 would be feasible for me to stumble through…
I was also curious as to potential interest in Book 2.
I bought the box set, so I expect I’ll dive in eventually, but it’d be more fun to have the full book club experience.

I do think it’s funny that absolutely nobody, myself included, is ready to just dive face-first into book 2. Need some rest first.

I can never seem to align my life with reading this book with this club. 
I’m reading it now though, 2 pages a day, now on Chapter 3. Is anyone else still reading it and would you like a reading partner?

I got mine in the mail the other day but haven’t started reading it as yet. How are you finding it difficulty wise?

When I started at Chapter 1, it was somewhat difficult. I have to read it with a dictionary for sure. My copy also doesn’t have any furigana, which I like actually. I can never tell if I’m reading the kanji myself or not with furigana. But it does make for slow reading.
Now that I’m at Chapter 3, I’m using a system that helps. Before I start reading, I use the vocab sheet linked above to highlight the vocab words. Then I read my two pages and it’s slightly smoother. It’s not so difficult to read and it’s a fun story. Very whimsical.

I seem to remember that’s how people felt after the first time the club ran 
and then I guess people get side-tracked and it’s either not their priority or they just read it themselves.
I’ll try to post some polls about this book tomorrow evening!
Also, this feels like an appropriate place to post this… Look who’s gonna be joining my household on Wednesday!
