I confess I’m not a huge fan of where I wound up putting the stopping point this week, but putting it somewhere more fitting in terms of story pacing risked making this week’s reading one of the shortest of the whole series, and next week’s one of the longest.
I forgot the stopping point and ended up reading on until the end of page 97 anyway There’s so little text in 93-97 that it’s practically the same amount of reading…
So, I notice the mural of the Blue-Clad One on paes 89-90 strongly resembles the style used in the opening credits of the Nausicaä movie, even though we’re well past the point in the manga where Miyazaki paused writing in order to produce the movie. One wonders if he drew the opening credits of the movie himself, and decided to replicate the images here.
Oof, that was quite the brutal week. Those scenes with Kushana and Kurotowa… I had completely forgotten about their confrontation with her brother, so when their corvette was smashed, that was quite a shock! And then Kushana hiding with her men under her wings. Some really impressive scenes.
