Looks good to me you might want to check through the privacy settings a little because I noticed somebody on there was appearing with (admittedly fairly anonymous) initials rather than as, like, an ‘anonymous fruit bat’ or whatever. Might just be that as the creator you need to access it logged into a different Google account / logged out, but it would be good if there was some way to kind of force anonymity. seanblue actually very kindly make all the sheets I’ve used up till now - though I just ran out - so I’m not that expert on the creation
And to get the nice box links you just need to post it totally ‘naked’, without any brackets around it or anything

Personally I’m good keeping to schedule. We can save the time for later, maybe chapter 2 if we need it since it’s a whopping 20% of the book, which is 50% longer than a typical chapter.
I’m not reading anything else at the moment (finished Kiri), and the Tobira study group is still on chapter 2 so I’ve got another week before I start there.
The polite form that Beniko uses, kudasanse, do any of you know where I can read more about that? I know kudasai of course, but the sanse form is new to me (or was new to me when I read the first book).

Always love me some thievery, but if he couldn’t hack competing against a rival cop, then he wasn’t cut out for the Lupin name to begin with.
It is interesting that the cop ate the candy when he was a younger man and the effects still stick around—I think that’s the longest that we know about so far? I guess he actually followed the instructions ^-^;; I think the closest after that is from the mermaid candy.
Reading chapter 2 now, a little late, but hope to get through both chapter 2 and 3 by the end of the week. Really enjoying it! It feels easier than chapter 2. Maybe it’s because I’m getting used to reading more, I don’t know. How are you doing?
Read the first chapter of Volume 4 today (skipped it back when the library didn’t have it, bought it while it was closed) and without being too spoiler-y if you were ever to skip around the series, since each chapter is their own contained story, I’d highly advise against skipping 4, maybe also 5. That’s all I’ll say out of fear of potentially spoiling anything
Hello! I’m also behind reading chapter 2 at the moment and totally forgot to post my thoughts on chapter 1. Will try to get to that asap.
I found in book one that some chapters were harder or easier than others - you definitely get more used to reading as you go, but I think in these books the chapters also have slightly different styles depending on the personality of the POV character, which can affect the difficulty.

I also have a question: does the year of the coins matters somehow? Firstly I thought that maybe it’s the birth year of the characters, but it doesn’t seem to fit. A little disappointing if it’s totally random.
I’m not saying it doesn’t, but if it does I have no idea whatsoever. I thought similarly to you, but as you’ve already said that just doesn’t work out. I’m now 6 volumes in and it still hasn’t become relevant.
It may just be a little detail thrown in for the sake of detail. A lot of Japanese media seems to have that kind of thing.
Oh well At least now I know I didn’t overlook anything and that it won’t become relevant in the near future.
Hahah, I’m actually afraid I’m becoming too addicted to the built-in dictionary. I’m using Bookwalker app (for Android), and it lets me use Google Translate, which ~sometimes works and it’s incredibly fast compared to doing things manually. And if it doesn’t work, copy-pasting into web dictionary is still faster.
I tried Kindle PC app first, but I didn’t like it. Kindle dictionary was actually less useful than Google Translate, because it wouldn’t see conjugated forms. And when I started copying things, I found out there’s a limit set to how much I can copy. I tested it with Toradora and it was a little too difficult for me, so I admit I was copying a lot, but come on.
And with Bookwalker, at least I don’t have to pretend that I live in Japan. I feel more like a wanted customer.
(That said, I had a good experience reading on real Kindle in English with English-English dictionary. It just seems it isn’t as useful for beginner Japanese readers.)
Oh yeah, at first I thought it is my fault for being more/less tired, but now I also have the impression that difficulty depends on character personality. I also think that immoral adults were the hardest so far

Yup, I found out that the hard way too! I posted about it here and found out from @seanblue’s reply that I could install JMDict on my Kindle and in my Kindle apps. It’s a real game changer! For English speakers, the JMDict dictionary is so much better than the built-in J-E dictionary.
