見せる - choice of に versus を

Just learning the word. Looks like に marks the person being shown the item of interest, and I presume を marks the item being shown. Can someone confirm my impression or clarify if I’m incorrect?

Aye, in this sort of context, を marks the direct object - the thing that has the verb done to it - while に marks the indirect object - the beneficiary of the verb being done.
