綱 Meaning error

See attached photo, cable not accepted, but then listed as the meaning in the definition.

The only word they use for it in both the meaning and reading mnemonics and explanations is “cable,” yet they only accept “rope” and make you add “cable” as a user synonym if that’s the word you take away for it… that ain’t right.

And then on the page for 綱 (vocab), it says, “The kanji is cable but this word refers to more of a rope, which is pretty similar.” So something went wrong somewhere.

(The reading mnemonic for the kanji even got updated recently, so I kinda feel like this shoulda been caught then. At least the discrepancy between the accepted meaning for the kanji and the meaning used in its mnemonics, not the discrepancy on the vocab page.)

Hey DeeVaughan!

We let the content team know about this late last week, but I didn’t realize cable wasn’t even on the allow list. I will get this added now while the WK content team figures out how to handle the meaning explanation. Thank you for bringing this up and apologies for the error!

We changed the meaning to “rope” and moved “cable” to the allow list and we updated the meaning and reading mnemonics, and both hints for 綱! Thanks for bringing this up!
