焼き鳥 - not grilled chicken?

I just found it a bit odd that “grilled chicken” isn’t a correct response for this vocabulary - level 18

I may be wrong… maybe there’s a different grilled chicken?
Every yakitori I’ve ever eaten was grilled over charcoal

Please correct me if this shouldn’t be added as a response

Thanks!

Yakitori is grilled chicken, but ‘grilled chicken’ isn’t always yakitori.

That wouldn’t really explain the listed meanings.

I’d say email them if you want to.

Best guess I’ve got . For the record, I think adding ‘grilled chicken’ as a synonym is perfectly fine on principle, but in practice it’s easier to just type ‘yakitori’ again.

Grilled chicken, literally yaki tori, but not ‘yakitori’ in most people’s use of the word?

If you wanted to talk about some kind of grilled chicken that wasn’t yakitori, you could say 焼いた鳥肉 or something along those lines.

Yeah those are all good points.
I specifically thought that it should be a correct response for the vocab, although I agree just typing yakitori is probably easier

Nice picture also, but like you said that’s not what comes to mind when you say yakitori
