This section is so adorable!

I love the little 影くん!

It was really heartwarming that Mira wanted to get up with Lea, and she got up in time so that they start getting ready together :green_heart:

Good practice seeing 付く being used.

Vocab and dialogue questions

When レイfound the comb and saidしまらない。It looks like it would translate to not “being complete”. It looks like it comes from 閉まる - to be closed - so it’s interesting how it’s used. Let me know if I’m wrong.

How did you interpret 眠気 here. It feels like sleepiness or drowsiness seems off.

しまらない

Is this the one you mean?

I interpreted that as しまらない slovenly.

So “if it weren’t for this comb I would look like a mess” as a loose translation

It’s tough when words look like conjugated verbs!

眠気

I interpreted that as drowsiness actually. I think when Mia sleeps in it’s like the room itself is sleepy or drowsy and that’s why the night and stars literally creep in. So I interpreted that panel as レイsaying if Mia lets in some light in the morning it will “take away the room’s drowsiness

Yea that’s the panel. That makes more sense I think that goes well.

This week’s reading is a great reminder that even pretty people wake up a hot mess.

Are the little shadow creatures a symptom of Mia’s condition? So cute. I gotta admit, I don’t yet get why this is considered an illness. Having cute shadow pets around to wake you up in the morning seems like a perk to me.

I’m glad to see everyone is curious about the shadow guys! We get to learn more about them in this volume.

Thoughts on section

Wow. Mira is amazing. I don’t think I would be able to decide I want to wake up so early for someone and then immediately do it. And she looks so awake too!

A brief thought here:

Liveblog

This is also how I would react if someone told me I would have to wake up at 6:30AM the next day.

Also thank you for the catch on 締まらない; I didn’t have that particular definition in my dictionary!

I snapped this volume up as soon as I saw it was going for 99 yen on Bookwalker! I’m glad I get to read this while the club is still ongoing.

One question

This sentence tripped me up: 寝つきは早いが朝は起きるのが辛いだろう. I sometimes have a habit of making assumptions about what sentences mean and reading stuff into them that isn’t there. So for this one, my first impression was that it’s something like “Going to sleep early makes it tough to wake up in the morning.” But a) that doesn’t make logical sense and b) it doesn’t seem like there’s a grammatical cause-and-effect being laid out in the sentence. So what is 師匠 really saying here?

Possible answer

I haven’t reread the scene, but is it が as ‘but’?

Something like ‘You fall asleep quickly, but waking up in the morning is tough’

I knew it would be something obvious lol

So it’s the “fast” meaning of 早い! That makes a lot of sense, thank you!
