I have to admit that I had big expectations, seeing how the last chapter of the first volume was a such a big deal, plot wise.
But instead, nothing happened really? Unless I completely missed something?

It definitely didn’t have the impact of the last chapter of volume 1, but we did get a bit more insight into how Shi-san fought and what happened after. You pretty much got a direct answer to the question you had back then:

Yes I guess that part is a bit confusing for me, I understood that they told the humans that they could come now, which didn’t work out because of the meteor shower, but why did they tell them to come if they didn’t finish killing down the giants?
