Is it really a good idea to carry someone who is vomiting poison with their mouth next the back of your neck like this? I mean, later it says the poison doesn’t affect humans, but they didn’t know that at this point.
… What? How on earth is breaking her horns meant to be revenge? Why not pull her teeth while you’re at it?
Though I can’t say I entirely disagree with black-hair girl - having those things waving around my face right at eye level would definitely unnerve me.
Ok, I feel a little better about the whole thing with the reveal towards the end of the chapter that they called Ruri’s mother about it first, though I’m still not clear how it was supposed to be revenge. The comments that Ruri makes to Kamata while they’re in the middle of it definitely drive the point home, but they weren’t really part of the plan to begin with.
One timing point I’m unclear of: is the final panel of page 122 saying that one of her horns (the right one, I guess?) was already cracked before they even started the whole operation?
(Also, what’s bugging me now is that despite Ruri kneeling in open space, completely surrounded on all sides by other kids… somehow when the horn breaks, there’s suddenly a painting underneath her.)
Yeah. I don’t know if it was supposed to be like them directly responding to her criticism by dealing with the horns she called gross. Making it a big deal to make things awkward for her.
And yeah, they were in front of everybody, so not sure how they managed to “pre-break” one horn, unless it was just like that from everyday life.
I kinda got the impression that the horns break off naturally over time and regrow, like a deer’s horns or something, but I’m not sure if I’m just making that up. This chapter just happened to occur as the horns were on the verge of breaking anyway.
