It seems like 藤野 is using this けど sentence ending structure a lot, this is like the second main time we’ve seen her use it. I saw in this tofugu article that maybe she’s using it to seem less pretentious? Like she’s low key bragging but adding this けど to soften it? Maybe it works a bit like humble bragging, like everyone KNOWS you’re bragging, but you politely say けど at the end to at least pretend you’re not? lol.
you could also think of it like ‘Yeah, well, I only stopped so I could level up to aim for this manga prize’ - like, ‘here’s the reason [but (qualifier)]’ or something like that
Yeah not too much to say this week, but I like how 京本 is kinda bad at communicating. I mean they’re kids anyway but I always appreciate, if you’re gonna have a sort of shut-in character, making them more believably that way. I’ve definitely seen some characters that just don’t feel like they really sell it.
