Chapter 79! It felt a little bit of a weaker start but maybe it’s just a bit hard reengaging mid battle after a long break.
I can’t remember if we knew Piccolo was wearing heavy clothing. I presume we were supposed to recognise this from the sounds effects as the clothes hit the floor.
One of the nice things about being ok chapter 81 of a manga is that so many of the speech patterns and vocabulary are familiar now. This felt like a straightforward read and could just concentrate on enjoying the story. I enjoyed Piccolo’s super saiyajin joke!
This story arc is so long! I’m trying not to peek ahead but it doesn’t feel like we’re going to get to the end of the battle in this volume. But from the cover presumably we will finally get to see a proper 超サイヤ人 eventually…
I did like Frieza’s tail attack on the first page!
From other manga I think for many volume 9 threads there isn’t much discussion. But in these prolonged battles there really is nothing to discuss! There aren’t even many in jokes/cameo appearances. But, I’m still enjoying it…
