Note that the last week has a few extra pages, 番外編

I don’t remember buying a special edition for volume 04 so I’m assuming it’s for everyone but let me know if I’m wrong. Also I had a look at the extra pages and there are 04 additional pages with text, so I don’t see anything that justifies that we break it down to spend a week on it and suggest that we maintain the pace the club has had so far with 6 weeks per volume

Wow, Volume 4!! I paused reading ahead after Vol. 3 so I could join the club, I’m excited to start this volume on schedule and finally read along with everyone ^^

Also I don’t know if you’ve all noticed but there’s a different drawing of wormie-sama on the fold of the cover for every book.

We’ve had lots of interesting magical creatures in this world so far, but I particularly liked the new creature this week - the 鱗狼 - scaled wolf. There was also a good summary of some of the magical creatures we’ve met so far at the end of volume 3.

Emotionally stunted 魔法使い special!

I struggled a bit with the discussion between K-dog and Coko at the beginning of the chapter but I think I got the gist of it. He’s saying that her forte is drawing magic by instinct, right?

Not a long going on this week but the chieh/Coko interactions are priceless. Also looking forward to that foreboding 蛇の洞窟.

I thought he was saying that her forte was drawing straight lines. But maybe I took that too literally.

Thats what I understood too and I think the images in the book she tries to get inspiration from confirm that!

Oh ok, that was my initial understanding but then I thought he meant “drawing straight away” or something like that, but now I remember that he specifically mentioned 直線. Seems like such a weird backhanded compliment. That being said it does mesh with her experience as a tailor.

I’ll have to reread this part.

So excited to see how this upcoming adventure plays out!!

So I haven’t finished the chapter yet but I’m tired and confused:

Isn’t only Agathe supposed to take the test right now? Why is koco involved? Or is it Agathe and Richeh and Koco just watches?

And I’m not entirely sure I get what the test is exactly: is the 護衛対象 those merfon cubs that the apprentices have to carry through the snake cavern? Seems very convoluted.

Also why did the wormie costume fool the humans but the merfon one only tricks the birds? Agathe comments on this but I didn’t quite get it.

I really shouldn’t be reading this at 2AM, I’m even dumber than usual…
