とんがり帽子のアトリエ Volume 11 🧙‍♀️

I think for me the main issue is that the plot is centered around koco but, being a small child, it’s not clear to me what exactly she can accomplish even if she turns to the dark side. K-dog is probably capable of doing a lot more but he has been spinning his wheels ever since he memory wiped Oru

chapter 59

The king ambitioning to become 魔王 is interesting given that cokoたち and つばありちゃん are converging towards him. Seems like they could come up to a mutually beneficial arrangement, at least in the short term. I’m starting to like the king’s character, he’s clearly not to be trusted but he has a fun personality and a cool design. And giant cats, always appreciated.

It’s reasonable that powerful non-mages would be very interested in piercing the secret of magic, I was surprised that it was not brought up until now but I guess it’s also a huge taboo.

I feel like the manga is desperately trying to get me to care for the Evening Silver Parade thingy but I don’t even really understand what it’s about. Are they going to walk through the city casting spells? Isn’t it pretty much already what they do the rest of the time? Why should I care? I guess we’ll know soon enough. For now I’m more invested in coko meeting the king.

I also want to know more about つばありちゃん. I like the design of the character but we don’t know much about her. Her wiping the とんがり cop without hesitation was interesting, I hope she won’t remain a one-dimentional side character.

The manga forgor about wolf-boy. Probably frolicking in the fields with that hot mage dommy mommy. Can’t blame him. Slay, king.

Only about that? What about Koco’s mom?

Oh and now I have to call my mom again…

Well she’s literally a statue so she can wait I guess. K-dog put some vines around her, very safe.

It worked for sleeping beauty. Good thing there’s no meddling prince around… wait a minute…

It sounds like we all have slightly different reasons for not liking the way the plot progresses, lol. Personally, I mostly enjoy the side stories, the side characters and the political world building, and while some scenes (the majority in this volume) feel more drawn out then they need to be, at least they all make valid points that belong in the story. I honestly wouldn’t mind the detours too much if the manga were already finished and we didn’t have to wait ages for each new volume.

My problem with the story can be summed up as:

Vague mood spoilers that include the next two volumes

I urgently need someone to die. This story gets very dark in some parts, but so far it hasn’t really delivered any serious, permanent consequences, and it’s starting to feel like everyone has plot armor and everything is always going to turn out fine. I need a kick in the heart to start caring again.

Yeah I’ve seen people online describe this manga as “dark” but I don’t really see it. There have been a few situations where something truly messed up could have happened (the つばあり tattooing the kid on the snake path and turning him against the girls for instance) but every time the situation defuses and things end up mostly fine.

I haven’t really forgiven the author for that trip to the library tower a few volumes ago that ended up in… nothing? I feel like the author had the possibility to end the story nicely there in a handful of chapters but instead just reset the stakes and decided to start a completely new arc instead, abandoning the whole “mum is a statue now” plot.

I think the “boringness / no one’s gonna die” theme was made clear right from the start, when they escaped the dragon of death they were trapped with in the labyrinth with no one to help, with pink cute warm clouds

Also if you want dark, blood and people dying, may I suggest for you ハピネス  to this day it’s one of my favorite manga

My first ever manga! Also I like that the blood and people dying is the less disturbing part of it all.
