Regarding what I wrote about て being an explanation, here’s a couple of examples from a manga I painstakingly worked my way through last year, which show sentences ending with a verb in て form: ▶ Example 1 ▶ Example 2 In the scene in しろくまカフェ, I take the last line to hold such an explanatory meaning.
