This should work:

I removed the .csv file from above. Here is the new one:

which should be without the furigana effect.

It worked with replacing the following regular expressions by nothing at the conversion from .kfx to epub in calibre:

Now everything should be fine. The TOC is no more included either.

One little thing remains:
calibre tries a Chinese transcription for the Japanese filename (see titlebar in the picture):

Awesome that you found it! I’ll save it for future reference.
Looks perfect to me now :star_struck: :sparkles:
Maybe you can add the link to the csv in the first post as well as a link to the instructions to import it? (or a direct copy / quote of my post)

That’s what I planned to do (and have done now). I just wanted to wait for your :check_mark:. Thank you for your support.

Looks great  thanks for doing the work, I’m sure many will benefit from it!
I find it actually a bit strange that 青山 美智子’s books are not on JPDB, given how popular they seem to be. I have the same problem with 木曜日にはココアを. I didn’t get around to make a JPDB deck myself for it but I think I will do it now and share it with the club, thanks for the inspiration!

If you want to do the same, here is the howto file that I just saved:

あなたも殺人犯になれる! ❗ (Intermediate Book Club) [completed] - #39 by Akashelia

open calibre app (with plugins for kfx and DeDRM - exact versions as given in the youtube video above)
connect kindle
add file to calibre
convert to EPUB with replacing the following regular expressions by nothing:

<rt>[^<]*</rt>
<rp>[^<]*</rp>

convert EPUB to TXT
save TXT

open jpdb.io (with addon jpdb-export) / learn
new deck from text
copy text without table of contents
generate deck
export deck

import in jpdb.io:
copy text file
paste in ‘new deck from text’

I won’t be reading with the club because I’m in the middle of the 木曜日にはココアを club, but hope you all enjoy!

Thanks for all your efforts in putting the jpdb export together. Much appreciated, I will be using this!

I just realized I should have asked here in the first place, but my brain somehow glitched
The previous book discovered that they’ll finish a week earlier, and the question is whether y’all would like to start this club earlier as well? Please answer my poll so we can decide how to go forward with this club :folded_hands:

So far there are already two people who asked for the additional week, which means we will stick to the original start date of May 31st.
Thanks everyone for your answer!

Thank you! Sorry for slowing everyone else  but this way I’ll have my book on time! Thanks everyone!

No need to apologize! You’re not slowing us down, we’re still on the original schedule :+1:

As there haven’t been any objections to the proposed schedule and the start remains at May 31st, I have now integrated the schedule in the first post of this thread.

If someone with a physical copy of the book can tell me the pages of the breakpoints I will be glad to add them to the table.

Here are the pages for the weeks, from the ポプラ文庫 bunkobon edition. The exception is the end of week one breakpoint – I cannot find the text たとえお世辞だとしても。 as the end of any section in that area of the book. Could you recheck that you have it right?

Week 1: pages 6-???
Week 2: pages ???-31
Week 3: pages 32-45
Week 4: pages 45-62
Week 5: pages 64-80
Week 6: pages 80-96
Week 7: pages 97-114
Week 8: pages 114-126
Week 9: pages 128-144
Week 10: pages 145-157
Week 11: pages 157-174
Week 12: pages 174-193
Week 13: pages 196-211
Week 14: pages 211-232
Week 15: pages 232-252
Week 16: pages 254-266
Week 17: pages 266-280
Week 18: pages 280-304
Week 19: pages 304-318

(There’s a blank page between each story that I don’t include in these counts, which is why the start page is sometimes larger than the the end page of the previous week.)

Thank you very much, also in the name of the other physical book readers.

Sorry for the trouble I caused you with the end of the first week, that must have been a remainder of my first attempt to divide the book into weeks. The given text is probably hidden somewhere at the end of a paragraph. I have now corrected the end phrase.

Here is a picture of the last page of week 1:

Thanks; that makes week 1 pages 6-18, and week 2 pages 18-31.
