Your Name in Japanese

My experience is that this almost always gets ignored and in practice “si” is written as シ.

Like in シド・マイヤー (Sid Meier, the first famous person with a si-name that popped into my head)

Mine is actually pretty close to my real name, Elias. It is: エリアス(eriasu)

Mine is very simple. Exactly the same as it is as now with no changes.

Mine is quite simple too. It is ティー・ジェー・
No changes in pronunciation and stress, and every Japanese person I know pronounces it correctly too.

スペンサー。Which is cool because it has my favorite katakana in it: ペ

Hey, mine too! Not too many Jerrys in the world anymore (my dad is a Jerry, as well). Oh, and when I’ve used English to Katakana converters before, they elongate the “ri” character. So, ジェリー

Cheers!

イジー is what I’ve been using in class, but to me it doesn’t really sound like a name… Hoping to study abroad with a host family sometime while I’m in college, so I’m not sure if I’ll stick with that or go by something else. Izzy’s a nickname anyway lol

デビッド・キャメロン here (no relation to the famous one!)

I think デビッド is a bit clunky and I’m often DC in English so thinking about using ディーシー for informal purposes. Does anyone have experiences of using nicknames in Japanese?

My name is アキラ when I go to translate it, even though its a Japanese name, so I wonder why it comes out in Kana?

My name— ソル —sound like 剃る, which means “to shave”.

For real nerds, Sol / ソル is also the name for one full day on Mars.
