Worst level so far?

The one with all of the 想 words like 予想, 感想, etc. Some of them haunt my review piles until this day… WaniKani says that’s level 13, ouch

Yes! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Me at level 20 seeing everyone complaining about level 21:

So far though, level 10 was significantly more difficult. Leeches started coming back and a lot of kanji started to look similar to previous kanji, and I had to rework my learning process a bit. It was well worth it though!

The current one… they just keep piling up new vocab… combined with my slower tempo, it seems I will never finish this level

I hated them. I was slowly starting to not remember anything when I was doing my studying compared to the other levels lol.

Worst level? 10. It’s taking me the time it took to do all the levels before it. But I think’s it’s due to outside factors, I just overall can’t take it (my life) anymore haha can’t wait for level 21

Honestly, same. Last few levels have been tough, feels as if my brain can’t process any more words… :sob: Though I also think it’s due to regular life being a bit hectic lately.

Here’s hoping future levels will be less ~painful~

Remembering level 21 (before my reset) it wasn’t honestly bad, it was just… boring, kind of. Especially vocabulary part with words like “checkup”, “ministry”, “economy”, “funds” and so on. It simply drops a lot of semi-specific terms, which aren’t really interesting for a lot people and because of that they’re harder to memorize in the first place.

I was stuck on level 35 for like a year. I had around 900 reviews, and doing 150 a day did nothing to decrease this number. Then they slowly started to burn.

The first day of every level is the worst level for me…

If you guys enjoy dry office words, I strongly recommend the Core 10k :slightly_smiling_face: It’s filled to the brim with exciting vocabulary about administration, economy and politics  It wants you to start reading the newspaper, get a proper haircut, put on a necktie, and become a normal, valid member of Japanese society.

I think it’s because a lot of the vocabulary is pretty rare. I’m in the midst of reading high-school level novels now and even there, words in the level 50s rarely come up.

checking my error % in workload graph, for sure is level 21,

it was very demoralizing most of the time in review I couldn’t remember the kanji.

While reading this thread and noticing the number “21” showing up a lot, I thought, “Wait, I don’t remember that level being THAT bad…” Then I looked at my wkstats level up progress. There was one tall black bar right in the middle, and it was, you guessed it, level 21. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m reading a bunch of shonen manga and I feel like this is it. I know every kanji and vocab in these mangas. The only struggle are slangs and grammars to be able to truely understand what are they talking about.

Same with me!

+1, I finished 8k of the Core10k and now I know 5k business-related words that I’ll literally never use :sunglasses:

Level 21 was the worst so far. Nothing would stick, felt like my brain was on vacation. (or getting judged/examined/investigated  )

Man - just started level 21 - all these ‘level 21 was awful’ comments are getting me worried…

I guess we’ll find out how I feel about it when it’s over.
