Well, it’s only been 16 months since your prediction, but I think things won’t change much.
That being said, a handful of the people here did get to level 60 (myself included)

Hah yeah I’m like this, only on level 5. Trying to complete all the vocab before hitting the next level. That makes it more like 2-3 weeks per level instead of just the radicals and kanji. In the end I hope I’m really learning the useful stuff instead of just trying to race, but it is a friendly competition.

Well, it’s half dead because it has spawn many offshoots. I think people are joining those new races rather than the old one(s).
The main one I’m talking about: Race to the Cake 🍰 (last update to the rankings was apparently 3 hours ago too).
The other ones are called things like “olympians” and “luminaries”, among others.
