Which vocab word to use for house?

Recently on bunpro vocab lessons, I encountered both 家 (うち) and 家 (いえ) as ways of saying house. What is the difference between these two vocab words? How do you know which to use?

うち is the word you use for your “home”. Where you feel at home. It kinda includes the people and the thing as a whole.
It’s also often used as a contraction in stuff like しゃみ12んち、ぼくんち.

家 on the other hand is the more neutral term and means just simply house. Any house you see can be an いえ without any emotional attachment to it.

That’s basically the gist of what I know about it. I’d say you mostly slowly develop a feeling over time which reading to use in which situation.

That helps a lot, thank you!
