“Two touches” turned into “tweet a cheesy”.
Did the mnemonic change? What did I miss?
(by the way I noticed ついたち, the mnemonic just changed)

ついたち?Never seen that before? might have been added recently or after I got past that level or
I’m just blind and forgetful as hell I think.
I have no idea why they changed it, but “two touches” sounds better imo.
Maybe you’ve just been typing 一日 as いちにち the whole time?
I joined back in 2021 and I actually think I originally was typing ついたち then I disappeared for months and reset back to level 1 when I came back around 50 days ago.
I think this time around I did it as 一日、and because of the big time difference I forgot ついたち was even a thing tbh :c.
Talking about this, what IS the difference between いちにち and ついたち? I know it probably boils down to context but in what context do the readings apply?
いちにち one day
ついたち 1st of the month
Thanks ^^!
WK doesn’t bother explaining いちにち, although it is in Patterns of Use / Common Word Combinations, too.
いちにち has a bunch of meanings (including “first of the month”) but it usually just means “one day, a single day”.
ついたち is much more limited, and for our purposes effectively only means “first of the month.” It’s what you will usually hear for that meaning.
ついたち
NO. Please, you cannot be serious ;-;
Rest in peace two touches ;-;
