I got a 3 month subscription as Christmas present alonside with the Android TV . I knew about the service before and didn’t continue after the 1 day trial. I find it expensive as well. …
A VPN service alonside Netflix or Amazon Prime will be your best bet. Actually that’s something I use way more to watch Japanese content on a daily basis.
Thanks, that sounds more affordable. I do understand that it’s a lot of channels, and it’s less than the standard cable subscription, but it would just be another service for me, because I’m not ready to ditch my current cable service, as much as I’d like to watch Japanese TV. KissAsian will have to do for the time being, but I’ll investigate the Netflix option.
In case anyone is trying to get into dramas, but it’s finding it hard to decide on a good one (as it was my case), there are the ドラマアカデミー賞 (Drama Academy Awards) which can be used as reference to seek for those dramas that have set a higher standard (than most) every year.
Netflix is running a Japanese TV reality show, “Terrace House,” where young singles share a house and sometimes date. I don’t get much from the dialogue as a beginner, but find the Japanese subtitles helpful. I freeze the frame and see how much I can read and then go back and replay the scene.
