Oi oi oi, what is happening. This week was lit. The text flowed much better, since it was mostly dialog and mostly by one guy. My absolute favorite chapter so far.
I might read it a second time to maybe get some nuance I missed.
I’m totally fuzzy now on the timeline of each chapter. It’s clear this chapter plays
after the backstory, chapter 4. Since this was the chapter where they met in the 事務所. But probably before chapter 1, 2, 3 and 5? Since he is wondering how 石川 is doing in these chapters, I suspect the robbery goes south somehow.
The plan of the scary 木崎 sounds reasonable, but I’m wondering, like our protagonist (we got a name: 西村) why they would need them for the robbery. Just to tie up a single woman seems suspiciously strange.
Feels like they are there to take the blame somehow.
I would also be pretty suspicious of what documents they are stealing. Has to be something real important.
I hope the next chapter actually lets us follow the robbery, that would be great
With all the names of all the people (some having multiple), we might need a 登場人物 table at some point ^^.
I think it plays in the middle of chapter 4 though. To quote your own remarks regarding chapter 4:
This is the money from the robbery, no? And I agree that it will go horribly wrong, or else he wouldn’t have needed the new identity, is my current theory.
Now we know This is before the chapter 6 scene, clearly.
I think those chapters are (mostly) the protagonist’s “now”, so yes, I agree.
Yep, very good question. I think the pretext is that they are supposed to mimick this Chinese gang, but I guess there is more to it?

You are right, I forgot to highlight this one in chapter 4. When searching for it now, I noticed that kindle can’t find a furigana word, the search function finds only the occurrences in chapter 6.
I agree, it was so much easier to follow what’s happening. So glad that we got some names for everyone! I wonder how 木崎 knew the name of our narrator 西村. There’s something fishy here but seems like our guy is onto it too.
